This course will begin with a focus on developing an appreciation for photography by looking at various artists and viewing a history of photography film series. The student will then fine tune their appreciation by learning the importance of composing photographs, understanding elements of design and utilizing composition of thirds. The student will use digital photography to foster an understanding of design and composition. Finally, the student will shoot various photography assignments applying what they have learned and compile a portfolio of best work. Assignments below are subject to change.

Photo-shoots
There are 6 choices in the handout and you must choose three. Photoshoots must include:
a). Take 20 photographs for each project and choose 8 ( Refine the eight photographs in I-photo)
b). Using keynote, create an introduction to your keynote, your eight photos and titles for each photograph. In your introduction, discuss the challenges, what you liked and disliked about the assignment, what you learned, and what you would do different next time.

Portfolio
11. Compilation of your 12 best photographs taken over the course of the semester and put in a keynote presentation. Include an artists statement and captions for all of your photographs.
