Photographs and documenting history

Read this article and respond to whether or not photographs provide evidence for historical events. Then go to fellow student's sites and look at their Women and Photography. Make a comment on their site either about something you learned, a photograph or how to improve the lesson.

  1. After reading the article, I've concluded that people can't trust anyone. When the information about Osama had first been released America 'came to together as a nation.' Or were supposed too. But now, the news is old and people are in disbelief. Maybe because the world hasn't changed, but such a historic event went down. A large portion of America doesn't trust the government to begin with, so they feel as though they need to actually see him dead. I don't understand how seeing picture would make people believe Osama was really dead, with all the things you can do now a days with photoshop. In the past, a picture was a picture. Now, you never know if what you're seeing is true. People just need to believe, but the world is so full of lies it's hard to do.
